Add the word “cream” to a beer style, and it brings vivid images of creamy deliciousness. Cream ales notably lack cream—or even, originally, the quality of creaminess. Going back to its 19th-century origins, contemporary accounts describe it as a cheaper, easier way to enter the burgeoning market for lagers. The “cream” part just sounded good.
1st Pancake was designed to be a true American cream ale with a heavy corn addition, clean fermentation, and easy drinkability. It serves as a delicious, no-frills beer.
